Abstract:

This paper presents a general method to obtain the equations of motion for a rigid solid having several points constrained to move on some mobile surfaces. The cases of mobile curves or fixed surfaces and curves may be considered particular cases of the general situation. The approach is a multibody one and the big challenge is to obtain the matrix of constraints and its derivative. The general matrix equation which is obtained can be easily implemented in a calculation program. An example highlights the theory.
